Given that his parents were huge fans of Masterchef Australia, Josh’s father thought it would be a good idea for Josh to draw a lot of comic recipes for the Mzansi Magic Market Day competition.
When he was eight years old Josh entered Mzansi Magic Market Day with 30 copies of his hand made activity cookbook and had the remarkable achievement of winning the Best stall at the Market Day that year.

In what became an essential ingredient for his journey as an aspiring chef, Josh entered Mzansi Magic Market Day competition with 30 copies of his hand made activity cookbook and had the remarkable achievement of winning the Best Stall at the Market Day competition that year.

Youngest Published Author

After his handmade activity cookbook won the Best Stall at the Mzansi Magic Market Day Josh kept on dishing out more with his first cookbook being published in 2012. His book made him the youngest published author in South Africa at the age of nine.

Gourmand Award Winner

A year later, Josh’s book was selected as the South African winner of the Gourmand Award and soon after that he heard that he was one of the six finalists in the world.

Best Children’s Cookbook in the World 2012

His book then officially became the Best Children’s Cookbook in the world in 2012.
He competed with adult authors from 171 countries to attain this outstanding feat.
Josh kept dishing out more with his first cookbook, titled “Cook with Josh”, being published in 2012. His book made him the youngest published author in South Africa at the age of nine.

Josh’s latest book, “Bake with Josh” was launched in April 2014.

Josh’s recipe for success is illustrated by the message he has for fellow children wishing to make a mark in whatever field they are interested in. His short yet inspiring words for his peers are:

Josh’s Future

Having always shown signs of being hungry for success, Josh currently receives a professional chef’s training at his home from a local chef to improve all his incredible skills.
